coloring tails... prologue...

Through the colors, Jake's life began to emerge.

Raspberry. A beautiful color- a bright color. Black. A dark, boring color. I must reach the sky.

No one would notice his life colors until after his strange, bizarre death. It would take weeks to find them all and have the police know how and why he died. It was not murder and it was not suicide; Jake was an unique person who wished to show the world a bit of the rainbow he discovered.

Teal. Make me green. Tea? Does anyone want tea? I will be green. One day the sky will open and colors will pour forth. There ARE colors and there WILL be colors forever. Where the water touches the sky THAT is where they hide. Follow me if you dare. I am able to show you the way. Free the colors, good dream!

Irratic, not in touch, crazy: all these words people tied onto Jake but none fit. None would; these people- the people who were supposed to know him best- knew nothing of him. Only one soul knew him, for people called her the same names. It was with her encouragement Jake would create this plan and live on for millions of years.

Are the colours narrating his life?

I have to say that I can't help but feel like this is just adding to the universe of "The Giver"...it shares many similarities.

The switch in narrative is hard to understand at times but overall I enjoyed reading it - and am actually even more curious about it just because it reminds me of the Giver. I like the few characters you've mentioned - there's so much of them in what little you've written.

Thanks for reading "Shining Prince p2" btw - I never noticed your comment until today. I was wondering if you saw there was a part 1? In any case, it may be hard to understand as it was merely me writing a bit of background on a character in a novel I'm trying to write. I'm glad you liked whatever tidbit I provided.

Also, thanks for linking my blog! =)

It is very much like The Giver. The Giver was actual what gave me the idea.
